What is Lazy Duck?
Lazy Duck is a comprehensive dictionary of modern terminology, colloquialisms, and the language of procrastination. We document the words you didn't know you needed, but definitely use every day.
Our collection includes 2,499 carefully curated entries that describe the human condition, particularly the condition of not doing what you're supposed to be doing. Each entry has been researched, peer-reviewed by absolutely no one, and published with the full confidence that it will teach you absolutely nothing useful.
The Philosophy
Language evolves. New words emerge to describe new experiences, feelings, and the peculiar challenges of modern life. Lazy Duck exists to capture these linguistic innovations before they disappear into the ether of group chats and internet comments.
We believe that if a word is used, it deserves to be defined. Even if that definition is "the act of scrolling through your phone while pretending to be productive."
The Mascot
Our mascot is a duck. He has been meaning to update this page since 2024. He is currently taking a nap, which is both his default state and his primary contribution to the dictionary's editorial process.
The duck represents the spirit of Lazy Duck: well-intentioned, occasionally productive, but mostly just vibes.
The Games
We may or may not have hidden games throughout the dictionary. If you happen to find one, congratulations! You've earned a small victory in your day. If you haven't found any, keep looking. Or don't. The duck would understand.
Definitely, absolutely, 100% a dictionary. Nothing more, nothing less. Definitely not a game site. Why would you even think that?
